5.3% of citizens unemployed in Mercer County in 2021

Mercer County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.3% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 551 people out of the 22,470 living in Mercer County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Mercer County has decreased compared to the 6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Mercer County was nearly equal to the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 9,852 people who had a job during that time, 39 were employed in the Armed Forces and 9,813 belonged to the civilian labor force.
