Danville Centre for Health & Rehabilitation was recognized as the largest nursing home in Boyle County during the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reports.
The facility operated 106 beds—eight more than the county average during the same time frame—and assisted an average of 88.5 residents over the period.
CMS gave Danville Centre for Health & Rehabilitation an overall rating of 2 out of 5, trailing the statewide average of 3 for Kentucky nursing homes.
Henson Park Health & Rehabilitation ranked as the county’s second largest nursing home for the quarter, offering 90 beds.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the nation’s older adult population is rising as younger age groups decline. Between 2020 and 2024, the population of Americans 65 and older rose 13%, while those under 18 dropped 1.7%. Over the last century, the older adult population in the United States has expanded significantly, climbing from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.
A 2021 report estimates that close to half of this demographic, or about 28 million people, may need long-term services and supports. The analysis also suggests that over one-third could ultimately require nursing home care.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education organization. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
